Is it ok to shoot chipmunks?

So, my house is about 17 years old and chipmunks come inside in the winter all the time. At night I heard them in the walls chewing and fighting.

I saw a group outside my window today and almost grabbed my phantom. Would that have made me a bad person?

Its not just the noise i'm worried about. Have you guys ever heard of chipmunks chewing wires and burning houses down? I'll lived in this house all my life and dont feel like moving...

So let me know what you guys think.

K, I'm being evil posting but...

Its not o.k to hurt them intentional (though its fun, I admit. Though you feel guilty later... ). Either leave them be, or take them out humanely and quickly. I would recommend shooting them for real though, as your right on the wires.

My grandfather used to shoot them with a 12 gauge, no clean up after.

well considering there size and the size of a paintball, just think of it as playing dodgeball with them....

its illegal, red squirrels are legal all year and greys have a season, chippers are off the list and illegal to shoot, along with any and all song birds

I shot one chipmunk with a bb gun...I felt sooooooo bad after. Probably cuz it was a neck shot.

laws are just suggestions, i i suggest if you break them... don't get caught... simple as that!

IDK i think crows are legal, i mean i shot them when they wake me up at 5 in the damn morning..

sea gulls are a big no no !!!! But I hear they like bread with alka-seltzer in the middle.....

yeah they do! but i almost ran over a seagull while i have my mom screaming in my ear not to hit it, i thought it was because she didn't want blood on here car (not that i was trying to hit it..)

oh man, bread and alka-seltzer is a meal for seagulls to die for..... literally haha

Believe it or not, I've only ever killed one small animal and no large ones. Felt guilty for a while though...

the only small animals that i'll actually go out and shoot ant stuff, is friggin red squirrels. i hate those things, i'll go out behind my house sometimes when i'm bored with my 22 and be like- heeeeeere little squirrely squirrelieees

crows are legal but only during season, and its a short season at that.

you are good to shoot right now til the 4-15-10 then again 8-1-10 to 9-30-10


go here its all the seasons, if it isnt listed next to a season dont shoot it, its illegal. caught shooting out of season or a protected animal can and will lead to: loss of drivers license, loss or hunting and fishing license, a HUGE fine, possible jail time, seizure of all firearms in possession, and in some cases you are listed as a felon. so just dont do it

im pretty much all set out where i live. it's like right before the boonies begin but still like 6 miles away from the middle of town haha. cops never come out by my house

then it sounds like you're all set if you don't even shoot crows in the first place

better to just not shoot anything unless you have a license and your are the legal distance away from buildings. dont shoot it unless you plan to eat it, or if it posses a danger to you
