Marker Refinishing

Post by A SNEAKY PANDA on Wed Jun 19, 2013 5:15 pm

gauging interest here to see who might be interested in having their markers refinished.

why powder coating is better than anodizing:
1) i can produce colors that anodizing is not capable of producing, ever
2) i can produce finishes that anodizing is not capable of producing, ever
3) powder coating offers serious protection again stretches and dings. if you scratch anodizing you also are stretching the metal
4) powder coating can produce truly metallic colors with color shifting flakes
5) powder coating can be stripped an indefinite amount of times without effecting the metal
6) powder coating can be applied to any metal not just aluminum
7) powder coating can be applied to cast metals where anodizing can only be applied to billet aluminum

two important things to keep in mind:
1) powder coating is an external coating only, it will not be applied to interior parts of the marker, those will be taped and plugged off
2) despite the ridiculous myth your marker will NOT be noticeably heavier, we are talking a 1/10th of an ounce maybe.

before people start asking me about pricing, it is based mostly on the color and the finish, just like anodizing. if you want one straight color it will be cheaper than multiple colors, candy, or metallic finishes.

types of finishes available:
solid tone
candy (glossy or matte, solid color or metallic. can be applied to over the top of another finish or color for even wilder effects)
matte
wrinkle
vein
texture
river
cast
leatherette
glazed
metallic
pearl

here are a few of the colors i have in stock but i have access to 1000s of colors i can special order in for a project. if you can think of a color i can get it, if that color or finish is not available i can either make it with a two coat process or i can have it custom made (will be subject to an additional cost)

i am not in the business of disassembling and reassembling markers, nor do i want to be. any marker that comes in for a refinish MUST be 100% torn down, no seals, no internals, no pins, no electronics. just the external parts to be coated. marker must also be clean any any oil and paint. if you are interested in having a marker done, either post in here AND attach a picture of the marker. i cannot price something if i cannot see it

Should we two tone it or just go one straight color?

I am interested. I have an epiphany I would like to get done.  Do you think you could do it to match the new shipyard jersey's? its in about 5 different colors right now.

throwing a 3rd color in there may make the gun look off balance, but i do have something in mind that can bring the blue effect without it being over powering and off balancing the gun. granted it would cost more but it would look pretty awesome

feel free to shoot over a mess to my phone or message me in fb. im not on here as much as i could be
